"The Second American Constitutional Convention"

Philadelphia II is a nonprofit 501(c)(4) public benefit corporation incorporated on December 1st, 1992. It's mission is to conduct an un biased election of The National Initiative For Democracy at VoteP2.us. The National Initiative for Democracy (also known as The National Initiative) is:

  • The Democracy Amendment, a proposed constitutional amendment asserting the right of the People to amend the United States Constitution without the intervention and beyond the control of their elected and appointed representatives; and

  • The Democracy Act, a proposed federal law prescribing deliberative legislative procedures and creating an administrative agency, the Electoral Trust, to administer those procedures.

When enacted, the National Initiative will create a Legislature of the People in the United States allowing the People to create and change laws by initiative.

Philadelphia II is currently conducting a national election at VoteP2.us in which Americans can vote for or against the Democracy Amendment and the Democracy Act.

Philadelphia II has neither a direct nor indirect connection with any political party, business group, labor organization, religious group or other partisan political organization.

The name "Philadelphia II" is based on the historical fact that the first American constitutional convention took place in Philadelphia on May 25th to September 17th, 1787. Therefore, the name Philadelphia II is not directly connected to the current day city of Philadelphia. The name is used as a metaphor for a second national constitutional convention held by the People.
